Signal Quality
What is Signal Quality?
Signal Quality is a measurement or an indicator of the quality of the extracted signals. It provides an insight into the quality of the vital sign measurements.
How to retrieve Signal Quality from Vitals™ SDK?

What does it mean to have high Signal Quality?
A high Signal Quality indicates that the signals captured by Vitals™ SDK are strong, resulting in more accurate and consistent measurements. A high signal quality ensures the reliability of the vital signs provided by Vitals™.
What does it mean to have low Signal Quality?
A low Signal Quality suggests that the signals captured by Vitals™ SDK are weak. Please follow VHA Best Practices (for user guidelines) and Conditions Check (for developer guidelines) for optimal results.
How does Vitals™ SDK measure it?
Some of the factors that influence the Signal Quality are listed below:
- Average frame rate
- Minimum frame rate
- Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR)
- Raw signal variations
- Physiological vital sign variations
